Youth Shooting Sports Alliance
TURN YOUR OLD GUN INTO THEIR NEW PASSION
Our most important task is to introduce young people to the pleasures and responsibilities
of the shooting sports. As a service to the industry, the
Youth Shooting Sports Alliance
(YSSA) identifies proven youth shooting sports programs nationwide that are not reaching
their potential for growth because of equipment limitations. Working with some of the
industry’s most respected manufacturers, the YSSA has distributed nearly $700,000 worth
of shooting sports equipment and supplies to over 200 youth organizations including Boy
Scout Councils, 4-H chapters and JROTC units.
The YSSA uses a novel means of raising funds to help youth shooting sports programs realize their true potential in recruiting and retaining new shooters. Introduced in 2009, the YSSA Donated Firearms Program provides an opportunity for dealers to donate old guns and help the YSSA build the next generation of shooters. Donations are, in turn, sold on GunBroker.com – the web’s largest hunting and sport shooting auction. To date, the YSSA has generated over $300,000 from these auctions. These funds are used to purchase equipment and supplies needed by priority youth shooting sports programs.
The YSSA respectfully asks you to consider donating sparingly used firearms to help us achieve our vital mission. The YSSA is a 501(c)(3) private foundation and can provide a tax-deductible receipt to a donor for the purchase price of each firearm sold on auction.
